Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Platform Operation and Maintenance Engineer with experience in Amazon AWS and various database operations to ensure the smooth operation and performance of the Stepes’ cloud translation management system. This role demands a close working relationship with R&D, the testing team, and other core departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance and Optimization:
- Oversee daily operation and maintenance of the Stepes cloud platform.
- Optimize the system’s performance by conducting regular audits, identifying bottlenecks, and suggesting solutions.
- Collaboration and Integration:
- Work closely with the R&D team to integrate new features and technologies into the platform.
- Partner with the testing team to identify potential issues, ensuring that any updates or changes to the system are validated and of the highest quality.
- Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide Tier-3 support, addressing complex issues escalated from the customer support team.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve system outages, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal service disruption.
- System Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor system health, performance metrics, and traffic patterns.
- Generate and present regular reports on system performance, outages, and maintenance activities.
- Security Assurance:
- Ensure that the system complies with industry security standards.
- Monitor for security breaches or vulnerabilities and collaborate with security teams for mitigation.
- Global Collaboration:
- Engage with international teams to ensure consistent performance across all regions.
- Tailor system operation strategies to meet the unique needs and challenges of each geographical location.
- AWS and Database Management:
- Utilize expertise in Amazon AWS for system optimization and scalability.
- Manage, monitor, and optimize various database operations, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Implement best practices and strategies for database backup, recovery, and migration.
- Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending their adoption where beneficial.
- Participate in workshops, seminars, and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in platform operation, maintenance, or a related role.
- Proficiency in Amazon AWS, cloud platforms, and hands-on experience with various database operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and coordinate with teams in different time zones.
